Dyscalculia International Consortium: NPO Classification


 SCIENTIFIC, TECHNICAL, ENGINEERING and LEARNED: Aim is primarily toward accumulating or reorganizing existing knowledge, inventions or discoveries regarding physical, biological, and psychological systems and events. Members are directly involved in research and development. Amatures and hobbyists can be members only if the production of new knowledge through search and experimentation is crutial to involvement.

 COMMUNICATION & INFORMATION DISSEMINATION: Focus is mainly on transmitting information to non-members through mass media, documents, or personal consultation. Examples are Information & Referral Groups.

 OTHER-HELPING EDUCATIONAL: Primary goal is the education or increased learning of non-members. Members are either included directly in the educational process, or contribute to it in some way.

 MULTI-PURPOSE, GENERAL: Organization activities fall into 2 or more catagories.

 IRS TAX-EXEMPT DETERMINATION: Form 1023 must be filed by any entity organized and operated for one or more of the following purposes: charitable, scientific, literary or educational. Form 8718 must be submitted with a User's Fee between $150.-$400. Form SS-4 must be used to apply for a mandatory Employer Identification Number.
